ANXIETY. DEPRESSION. RELATIONSHIPS.

I CAN HELP.

I am Lori Lubbers

Therapy is always where I was meant to land because I am endlessly fascinated with people and their stories. I love reading books and I know that seeing people, entering other people’s world, their heart and heart aches would satisfy that same curiosity.

I have worked as a Medical Social Worker for 18 years – the last 6 years at Skagit Regional Health.

As a LICSW (Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker) I approach therapy with a broad scope bio-social model. This takes a patient's entire lifespan into account: age, environment, resources, macro and micro systems playing into their development, etc.

I have counseled and supported patients and their families in crisis: Medical crisis, mental health crisis, patients struggling with addiction, traumatized by accidents, death, violence, abuse, and neglect.

I have seen Clients take amazing steps into healing and growth while also observing patients and families who have avoided the hard work of healing relationships.  These experiences have shaped my practice and equipped me to step into difficult spaces with the goal to empower growth and create space to heal.

  • I live in Mount Vernon with my husband. We have been happily married for over 25 years.  We have three adult children who I love deeply.

My husband and I seek out adventures and travel.  We are always looking for a new place to explore.  We hike, find new places to eat and connect with people along the way.  I enjoy working in my garden, being creative with my hands: quilting, painting, macramé.

I am a voracious learner – I like to dig into at least 3-4 books at a time and I cannot keep up with all of the podcasts that I follow.

More than anything, I love people.  I am honored when people share their story with me. I welcome people with hospitality that allows them to show up as they are, without judgment, because that is how I love to be treated too.
